Some time has passed since my last entry. I have been using the time to find my inner peace. It was the best decision. I was always the type to makes sure everyone was good and I would put myself on the back burner. Over the last couple of months, there has been a complete 180 flip. I have been focusing on ME. Found happiness and just been living life.
I recommend the people who are considered everyone’s shoulder to lean on- to take a break and focus on yourself. Trust me, I know it is hard, but is a necessity at this point. With COVID still present and the daily scares one might go through you have to take care of yourself. Stop putting your goals, dreams, or anything you might be interested in on pause. Take that leap of faith- I promise you, you will not regret it. If anything you might be a little mad at yourself that you didn’t do it sooner. I sure was, but I am not stopping until I am where I want to be in the long run.
I have taken a leap of faith and got into painting, reading more, starting to rewrite a book I lost between computers years ago and just bettering myself in every aspect. I have heard the good, the bad and the ugly for me putting myself first instead of making sure everyone was good. It took me some time to honestly ignore the foolishness people were spitting out their mouth; but let’s be honest I could care less. Honestly, biting my tongue hurt too much. I stopped and I did lash out a couple of times and hurt people’s feeling a few times; but if you don’t respect my feelings why should I respect yours?
People fail to realize that the ones that people think are well put together are in fact not. We put a façade to get through the day, but no one ever asks us the million dollar questions: ‘Are you okay?’ ‘Is there anything I can help you with?’ ‘You are very quiet and have a straight face, is there anything you want to talk about?’ I wasn’t asked if everything was okay until I went ghost on certain people to find my inner peace and happiness. But whether they asked or not, it showed me that people only come to you when they need you and not just because.
Now I know sometimes it is a little hard to decipher if someone is off or not, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. STOP going to people only to vent and when it’s convenient for you. Reach out to the people that are always there for you whenever you need them. Although we might not say much we are in fact still human and may be going through a lot behind the smile and silence.
My leap of faith has altogether made me a happier person. Although I have a resting B face majority of the time, I am genuinely happy. I am making moves and shifting the board to work around it because the only place I want to go is up. If you are looking to disrupt that please exit at the nearest door.

Good afternoon, I hope all is well and everyone is staying safe as best as possible.
I cannot speak for everyone, but I have had this on my mind for sometime. I have stepped back from everyone and everything and I must say it is very relaxing and stress free. I decided to take a step back for many reasons during quarantine and I have zero regrets about it. It was very much needed and gave me time to truly analyze everything in front and around me.
I have had my fair share of being the go-to person when everyone is going through it; but sometimes I would like to get that reciprocated. I know this can be slightly impossible because I am one of many that do not like to ask for help and try to find a way out no matter what. Some would say it is because you asked and nothing happened a few times, so you just stopped and to an extent that is accurate. I asked for assistance and shoulder to vent on a few times and it BACKFIRED so fast. Never again. I refuse to go through it.
So in the midst of me pulling back from everyone and everything I started saying NO to people. This threw many people off because once again I was the person you went to but I can’t always be that person. In a sense, I felt like I was starting to enable people and they were depending on me entirely too much. Like yes I can help you but I am not going to do everything for you. Yes, I can guide you this way but you have to take a leap of faith and handle your business.
I say all of this to explain to people that sometimes we have to physically, mentally and emotionally pull back and analyze everything. We will have people talk down on us for saying no or being a little unsympathetic but we have to take ourselves out of the equation. I know I am not the only one going through this but I will gladly speak on it. I have been burned making sure people are good and I have suffered in silence with whatever issue I may have been going through. Tragic I know.
The growth I feel and see in myself speaks volumes for my sufferings. It has taken some time but I am very happy that I used my quarantine time to self-analyze and get things in motion for me. You have to always put your best foot forward and dive in for your goals and aspirations. Let’s do it people. Find your inner and outer happiness and put yourself first.
Hi everyone, I am back and just want to take the time out to talk about mental health and how it can affect you all around. Since March, I have been truly focusing on mental health and finding a comfortable zin place. I have my days, where this can be slightly rough especially since I can be considered a late night person now and sporadically overthink and analyze things. It’s a little hard to fall asleep early some days, but I am working through them. Music is very meditating and although it has always been my escape- I am finding other ways to help keep me in a calm comfortable space.
I can truly say, I have been very active and do it at least once a day. My now daily thing is going on a bike ride with my brother and/or doing yoga in the house. It keeps me stable and allows me to find my comfort zone. I am reading more as well so my brain is in overkill some days. Some days I fall asleep early and some days I don’t since I am not tired, engrossed in a book or watching a good show on TV.
I am saying this to simply say, we have to make sure that we are in a good mental headspace day to day. Find what makes you happy, workout and eat right and just find your inner happy place. If you have to distance yourself for a little bit in order to figure things out, then do so. This does not mean completely go incognito- but give yourself some me time. Put your phone on DND or turn it off. Listen to music, write, draw or color. Just make sure you are in a complete calm space.
As the days so go by, it will start to come natural and you will be able to do it without putting much thought into it. I am speaking from experience. I do not have a mental disorder but I think we all have moments where it might seem like it. We should start looking for the signs that show something is off and take the time out to focus on our mental health. If needed find someone you can talk to about these things and/or consider looking for additional professional health. Everyone be safe and enjoy your day!
When I first ordered the book when the pandemic first got serious and we was put on lock-down I did not have a legitimate reason to buy the book besides it sounded interesting. Honestly, I read the first chapter shortly after it was delivered and I was disinterested because I felt like the main character was a narcissistic, insensitive ass. I left the book on my dresser and continued to just read different eBooks on my phone throughout the day.
Something sparked in me Monday night and I wanted to read a physical page turning book so I picked up the book again and started reading. Boy oh boy was I up until maybe 2 am reading. Once you get into the book it was hard to stop. I wanted to know more and I couldn’t wait. Eventually, I got sleepy and put the book down and then after I woke up the next morning, worked out, showered and started my day I read a little more. Within a day since I started late the night before I was closed to finishing the book and was shocked because I was not expecting the turn out. It was interesting to see a different perspective of what the “rich” thought about the middle class and minorities. So I continued to read the book and finished it last night.
Throughout the book you will go through the bums of the characters and feel like you are walking in their shoes. The books is a must read because this could have been any of us. In society today, everybody is afraid to tell their store with the idea that they will be judged, but besides that sometimes living in your truth and telling your story you will find out that there is someone also going through what you went through or is still living in fear of the same thing. We need someone in our corner that will help us all in our time of need without being disrespected, embarrassed or belittled for it. No one is perfect and we go through things to learn and grow and possibly help someone even if they do no ask.
The ending was a complete bomb to me. I literally gasped while reading and couldn’t stopped. You always read about people being stuck in their thoughts and beliefs but here it was someone who spoke so lowly on the homeless, unprivileged and minorities- is now walking in their shoes because she chose love instead of all the materialistic items she was accustomed to her whole life.
I refuse to be sparknotes and spoil the story, so I will say this- you have to read the book for yourself. There will be times where you will get pissed off and make side comments but keep reading. The end will be worth it. It is very shocking but shows that people have to put themselves in your shoes or the shoes of the people they think so lowly of to understand that in life we all go through things to live and learn. No one is perfect and just because you have money or the education does not mean it is okay to be insenstive to the people that did not walk the path you did or have the family support you grew up with. At the end of the day we are all human and there is no need to belittle anyone because your karma will find away to make you pay for everything.
If you chose to read the book please let me know your thoughts on the book. I am interested in seeing what people got out from the book.
I would like to take the time out first and foremost to send virtual hugs to everyone who has lost some one during this pandemic. It is very unforunate. I hope you are reminiscing on all the good memories you have had with your loved ones. I know your time of bereavement may not be the best and some days you might go through the motions and/or maybe it has not fully hit you yet. What I can say to that is just stay positive and think about all the opportunities you have now.
I know some people may think nothing will be the same and to an extent it could be true. I personally want to focus on everyone using the rest of their days to do something that makes them happy. If you have been doubting yourself or battling the pros and cons, just go for it. You will not know the outcome until you are on a journey towards your goals.
This pandemic has proved to us time and time again that like is short. This pandemic has proved that everything can change in a blink of an eye. There is nothing we can do besides go with the motions. Yes, I am practicing what I am preaching. I have made the initial steps into things and opportunities that before I either overlooked or thought about the what-ifs. I am openly taking the punches as they come and working towards my ultimate goals in life. Just keep going no matter what.
Some can be done over night and some takes time and has multiple steps; but whatever it is go with your heart and make the best of it. I have a few friends who decided they wanted to enroll back in school to complete their Associates and Bachelors Degree and then there is me who is putting things in motion to go back for my Masters.
Just take a leap of faith, your end goals shall overlook all the obstacles it took to get to the finish line.
I have not been in school in almost a year and decided this morning I was going to look at my mock trial case and re-read it and do a opening and closing statement. To be honest, it was difficult. It literally took me about 5 hours to do so, which is shocking. I felt inexperienced and completely like it was my first time looking at it.
I commend everyone going to school and working full-time. I used to do it and last year I only had class 2 days with my internship and work the rest of the week. I guess I am outdated a little but sheesh I wanted to get that feeling again.
I am looking into going back to school for my Masters so I wanted to take a leap of faith. Honestly, I need to do an hour or two a day to fully prepare myself again. Patience is a virtue right now. But on a positive side, I did finish it and emailed it to my old professor just to see what his thoughts were on it so I can improve on it for the future.
Finger crossed I do not have to do major editing on it. I just enjoy the fact that we are still in contact and touch base on cases he is currently doing with his students.
The goal right now is to try to live a stress free lifestyle. With everything going on and how day to day interactions are at a pause and everyone’s health is up and down. We must stay positive.
Yes, I know it is easier said then done but we have to at least make the right steps to put this in motion. Work on yourself before suggesting something to someone else. We have to practice what we preach or we are considered hypocrites.
Everyone just breathe in and out, think or write down your goals and start putting things in order. We can determine our future. At this day and age we have the power. Walk into your future step by and step. I promise you won’t regret it.
Do not let anyone’s negative thoughts impact your future. Sometimes people say things because they do not want to go the extra mile to better themselves. They are considered the crabs in the barrel. Do whatever will make you happy. Go back to school if that’s what you really want. You can take classes to change your career path. Be your biggest supporter and take a leap of faith.
Honestly, these last two weeks have been rough. I have not read the book since the first day. I had 3 deaths in the family last week and then yesterday a long time friend of the family passed as well.
As I get out of my head I will be on this more. My mind is all over the place so bear with me. Everyone stay safe and take care.
I am going to start off by saying I am a bookworm. I have book apps on my phone and I try to read physical books as well. During this NY on Pause order I will be trying to read more physical books. Today I started The Miseducation of the Privileged by Ashley Nash. Hopefully, I can finish by the end of this week or early next week and throw out a review. I am going to change it up since I felt like I could of added more of a “review” on Citizen Outlaw I did last week.
I want to give a big thank you to everyone who is considered Essential Workers and to say although it might not seems like it we appreciate you guys.
I have witnessed first hand that people are nasty out here and the disrespect is not necessary. Today, was one of those days I dreaded. Waiting in line for the supermarket for about 15-20 minutes and then before I realized I was headed back home close to 2 hours later. The lines were extremely long and products was still being stocked.
Any other day I would understand the frustrations for asking for an item and it not being there or asking if it would be in stock soon but with the current pandemic we are going through I didn’t think it was the right time and a bit insensitive to the workers. They are risking their health daily so we can be able to get the items needed to survive as well. So to be hostile and disrespectful was uncalled for.
I know I am speaking about the supermarket currently but I want to broaden my open appreciation to EVERYONE WORKING. This is not to subjected to any field in particular because honestly there any many people considered that were looked down upon prior to this. I appreciate you guys and I wish you and your family the best. Everyone please safe and do everything in your power to stay well.
